Contacts you are out of luck as far as I know but Telecom retail stores can print you or email you a copy to the best of my knowledge.

As for pictures and videos, in the phones, Go Tools, User storage, connect PC then plug in the cable and it comes up as a "flash disk"

The driver was useless for anything except stuff we should not be touching!

For WIN 98 I can supply you with a reliable Mass-storage driver which works with any usb sticks and ipod, phones etc.

I can also supply a simple full USB mass storage support driver for Windows 95.... now that's nifty! Will not work with AMD K6-II above 350MHz however but works with any speeds of all intel machines.

According to my boss, we used to be able to print out your contacts, and put them on disc for you, but, as I said, according to said boss, can do no more...

...Cos Telecom said so...

Lats: can phone be used as modem or something?

Yes, this phone can be used as a modem, 1xRTT speeds.

We use to be able to upload them to the internet also (customers has their own transfer account), so we could just download them for a customer when they lost or had their phone stolen. I keep hearing rumours that this could be on its way back...

Time will tell.

Without shooting your boss in the foot of course.

It is possible to both print and send contacts as a .csv file now and has always been the case.
I can confirm this as i do it everyday.

In the case of loosing or having your phone stolen or for any other reason all you have to do is email the file back to the dealer. pop into the store and have these loaded into a new or replacement phone...

Enjoy the great service you will recieve from here on out ;-)

Dont forget his phone takes a simcard.....u can put your telecom simcard in there, and u can select all contacts and copy to sim,

if that doesnt work u can unlock it really easly, just google unlock w531. and use any nz sim card to save ur contacts ..its good backup. i reset my ohone and lost all my stuff

my contacts were still on the sim

Thats correct. You are able to save the contacts on the sim card although the sim is limited to 250 contacts.

Although possible, I do however not recommend unlocking the sim as this voids the warranty. Also following on from the new upgraded firmware the new codes are not available on the internet.

i just bought mine a few days ago and was able to find the unlock code within 2 mins. but anyway. you do not have to unlock it to save contacts to your telecom sim, its handy if u have less than 180 contacts...

i really cont understand how it voids the warranty though, saying that programing the phone itself voids the warranty. after all it is in the debug menu. and it can be relocked.

Laz - been away on hols, and the contacts manager has a few new extras to it, tho' I haven't had too many different phones on it to see what is available for what phone.  However, we use the telecom synapse contact manager, and as far as I know there are no provisions for downloading or uploading contacts...

Of course, I just do as I'm told here...  (and believe what I am told...)  Much more peaceful...

Hope you had a great holiday.

The new synapse is great and works well although strange that I use to get asked aboput photos and stuff all the time and the 2 times I've been able to offer this service it has been declined - go figure

Back to the topic.... It is synapse that we use to accomplish all the above. Have a play with the contact manager or send me a PM if you would like to know more
