No doubt it has been asked, is it possible to access Xtra webmail without signing up to Yahoo?

Thanks

No, not unless you use a 3rd party webmail client which connects through POP3.

Try just logging in at "mail.yahoo.com with your whole email address and password.

I can look at obtaining you a link otherwise which should get around the "T&C" process.

I don't think you can use xtra email without being forced to use yahoo,I refuse to have anything to do with yahoo and have have made that clear to xtra.
I can't use my xtra webmail at all even tho i use my correct login and password.I even get a "you have to upgrade your browser" message when i try to use xtra home page. The xtra email is so stuffed up.All i get is spam in my email, not that i use it anyway.i have my own domain email account that doesn't get any spam. The yahoo/xtra email is a joke.Yahoos logo is "we collect personal information",i leave you to guess what they do with that information.!!No wonder users are getting more spam.I just pass it straight onto spamcop.Xtra has even passed users email info onto yahoo without their consent.i got some spam from yahoo,i tried to pass it onto spamcop but their were no header info.!!

You cannot get access to Xtra email via webmail withouth going throught the Yahoo! registration process. Your Xtra mail box is now hosted by Yahoo!. You will not be able to bypass the Yahoo! registration by going to another Yahoo! mail loging page. With Yahoo! you can go to any of their loggin pages and will alway get to your home page, webmail or other services like Flickr when you enter your Yahoo! (and now your Xtra) ID.

If you don't want to register with Yahoo!, just POP your mail, either with a POP client or another webmail client.

But why are you complaining? You said you are NOT using your Xtra email anyway. So why moan about it.

Spam is a problem for everyone. Don't blame Yahoo! (or Xtra) for spam. They hate it as much as users. Blame the spammers. Why would Yahoo! pass on your username to spammers just so that they can fight it again. Mail providers have to invest heavily into anti-spam measures and extra capacity on servers and infrastructure. I heard something like 89% of all email is spam. That means that without spam, there will be 89% more capacity on mail servers. A great achievement from Yahoo! to give everyone unlimited mail storage. Think what else they can give you without having to invest in anti-spam measures.

Rather than blaming Yahoo! (or Xtra) for the amount of spam you are getting, why don't you register for Yahoo! and start using their anti-spam products lke disposable email addresses. Start managing your spam folder by making sure you mark all spam messages as spam. I will get less. Spammers and mail providers are in a fierce battle to alway stay one step ahead of each other, and I am afraid to say that the battle is just getting fiercer by the day.

Xtra had an old mail platform, with lots and lots of limitations. Outsourcing mail to Yahoo! give Xtra users so much more value for their money, like 10 sub-accounts. Something that could not be done on the old Xtra platform.

But how would you know what a great deal you get from Xtra. You don't use their mailbox. You just complain about it, for the the fun of it.
