Just got a text saying this combo is reducing from 1gig to 750meg. Existing users retain as long as they renew.

Wrong way Skinny, don't reduce data allowances!

Actually, you will find it has already changed. Got an e-mail about 30 minutes ago telling me it's changing on the 20th... two days ago.

"Big" data. 25mb per day. Hardly BIG by any measure. Barely 1mb per hour.

When will I be able to buy a data only prepay plan?
Say 3gb data, with texts at 2¢ and calls at say 25¢/min. $30/month? Sign me up.

Cheers,
Joseph

Have they made data 'rollover'. I hadn't noticed it as rollover previously, I am sure on the $16 monthly combo, it expired at the end of the month if not used?

I believe less data is a compromise for having rollover data as rollover costs them more

If you're already on the $26 combo and make sure it renews you get to keep 1gb

& whatever data you don't use will also rollover.

Rollover data doesn't cost more. What may cost them is people who were previously on the $16 plan and paying absurd prices for extra data will pay less, and those who were previously on the $26 plan purely to ensure they had enough data when they needed it, now have an option to pay less.

The $16 plan loses unlimited Skinny to Skinny calling next month, further creating a distinction between the $16 and $26 plans, making the latter more appealing to those who need more minutes or calling between family members.

Personally, I think $16 per month is still far too much, so I won't be tempted to pay $26 as Skinny removes their unique features and becomes more like the other players. How boring.

I agree. They're losing their point of difference that made them attractive in the first place. Like the pro-rata data change and removing unlimited Skinny-Skinny calling (not that I ever intentionally used that anyway). If I was on the $26 combo I'd drop back to the $16 and just use less data. But I'm already on the $16. I was considering a move to the $26 - not now though.

While i disagree with this trend of reducing data limits, rollover data on a reduced cap is the better option longer term, it is surprisingly easy to bank data over time and build up a buffer

I moved across to 2D a few months ago and now have a healthy amount of data and minutes at my disposal, I was lucky in that I was gifted additional data through various promos but the same can be achieved by buying data packs to build up your rollover data to the point that you have a working surplus

Having listened to the feedback from customers we have now put the data quota on the $26 plan back at 1GB.  Unused quota within the 1GB will also Rollover for 12 months.
