Have an ipad2 that is having a problem with 3G connection. Seems to have been a problem since the ios8 upgrade, where when I try to connect to the 3G connection, it comes up with 'no connection', and it can't even find the 3G network. Normally it should display spark and the signal strength. Restarting the ipad will usually allow it to connect again, but obviously I can't do that each time I want to connect to a 3G connection. Anyone else come across similar problems with other devices?

Try calling spark.
I've had an iPAD that did this, they did some kind of 'reset' on the sim and that helped clear up the issue.
You might need to remove & reinsert the sim too, if rebooting doesn't bring the connection back.

Failing these, get a new sim, and transfer your acc. onto it (by calling spark again).

Good Luck

Also full factory reset (don't do a restore) will fix a few things too

I agree with contacting spark. The can do network resets which is a common fix on the device getting stuck to a tower. The network reset erases the tower it can be stuck to.

iOS upgrades often removes the APN, follow these instructions to add it back in. http://help.spark.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/2133

Save the info somewhere in case it happens again when you next upgrade your iPad.
