CDMA phones from other countries cannot be "unlocked" for the Telecom NZ network, since CDMA phones are registered on the Telecom NZ network with the ESN (Electronic Serial number). If that number is not registered on the network by Telecom, you will not be able to connect to their network. In this way Telecom ensures mobiles not certified for it's network cannot cause any problems because of untested firm ware.
