Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

From 1st April 2015 our long-standing 'first month free' promotion will finally be coming to an end.  (I know we've extended it many times before, but this time it really truly will be finishing, for realsies)

So, if you were thinking about signing up to Bigpipe, better get in and do it before the end of March to get your first month free.

(for clarification: you don't need to be actually connected by the end of March, just sign up.  So you could sign up on 29th March and set your connection date for, say, 26th April if you wanted to tie in with another ISP's notice period or something)

Can't yet confirm what, if anything, it will be replaced with, (so don't ask) but it probably won't be as good as getting your first month free - which is worth up to $129 if you go for our 200/200 UFB plan.

Peterreader wants you to sign up - so you should definitely do it

I've heard otherwise rather recently... I'll wait on Oliver or someone with a tag to comment :)

the rules around this are

1) no second lines on UFB
2) for ADSL and VDSL, you can have Bigpipe as a second line BUT you have to pay for any and all extra in-home wiring required - jackpoints, etc etc

yep. always have for ADSL and VDSL.

For UFB, it should be sometime in the next 12 months. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Is it alright that I flick you an E-Mail and you can get someone in touch with me? I'm slightly interested :) Simply because I may want to get a UFB connection date planned and talk more about when UFB will come to Whangarei and I may want to sign my father up as he needs it too as he doesn't live at his actual house anymore.

sure thing, but for us it's many months away - and I can't really be any more specific than that.
We won't be able to actually place the order with Northpower until we have the gear in, which means we can't really do anything.

But I'm happy to help out, so just PM me with whatever you want to know.

AFAIK Northpower has completed the build in Whangerei, which means you should be able to order it right now with any RSP that serves that area.

So im keen to sign up,

but my anniversary date with my current provider is the 19th of may so if i connect before then i will be charged by the losing provider for breaking contract. Unfortunately i tried to sign up on the website and select a connection date for the 19th but it wont allow it.
Latest date for connection as of today is the 5th of May.

Any chance of getting signed up with a later connect date?

Cheers

Yep.  Just select the latest date you can when signing up, then email our support team  https://www.bigpipe.co.nz/#/support?a=send-message   and ask to change the date to whatever date you want.

(Don't forget that your current provider probably requires 30 days notice period, so, once we have confirmed the date back to you, don't forget to let them know you are switching)

So this is it, just 2 days to go.  Last chance to sign up to get your first month free.

Don't forget you can still leave anytime (no long term contracts), so if you really want to, you can switch to us, use us for a month or less, then switch to someone else. (but really you probably won't want to switch once you are with us). It won't have cost you a single penny.

We've had especially good experience with switching people already on UFB with other ISPs (currently only available in Auckland with Bigpipe).  Transition happens within a day or two usually.  Much less complex than your initial UFB install.

goodbye 'first month free'  It's been nice knowing you.
