Last few nights Ive noticed constant buffering of twitch tv streams and even youtube and liveleak seem to buffer as well, im just wondering is there routing issues going on somewhere and has anyone else come across these issues, i can tell something is up with twitch as most of the streams thumbnails don't even load.

I hear ya, I'm on Spark VDSL and I was just about to sit down and relax with some Twitch but it stops and buffers constantly. This seems to be happening more and more as of late.

My solution? Fire up a VPN and Twitch works great. No buffering at all on Source quality.

My guess is Spark's HTTP proxy is causing more issues again.

Yeah ive been using that for months livestreamer or tardsplaya, i swapped to tardsplaya since they updated it and it doesnt crash as often as it used to,but since Wednesday twitch is just slow even using the media players they start off ok then suddenly its like traffic stops.

Watched Hitbox streaming site with no issues, its just twitch.

Just add my  + 1 on this issue.
Using Spark 30Mbps Fibre in Wellington - Twitch.tv has worked great for me for ~3 months and this issue seems to have started a few weeks ago.
Used to be able to consistently stream High/Source quality and now even Low/Medium buffers for me.

Be great if someone from Spark could do some testing and confirm it is it anything they can fix.

Spoke to our son this morning about this. He's experiencing problems also. According to him, he used to have no trouble on the medium setting on a monitor off to the side while he does dev stuff or play games, and now it's almost totally unviewable at the lowest setting even if it's the only thing running. No trouble with streaming Netflix or anything else.

Not sure if it's just the one ISP or not but we're on Spark VDSL in Auckland

On Spark ADSL (10 mbit) in Dunedin and haven't had an issue with it on High (Source is hit and miss if it will play).

i cant watch streams without that way, it lags sometimes on my wifi connection [but its through my phone] but on normal wifi thats the best way other wise its unbearable to watch streams on twitch, the lag is horrible.

Have been having issues watching anything above medium for a while - 100Mbps Fibre in AKL.

Will test again tonight, otherwise might be VPN time.

Hasn't worked for me in years. Don't really bother trying much these days as every time I do try it buffers non stop.

www.twitch.tv/notmes i used to be able to watch him in source via livestreamer not a problem now all i get is chunk errors because the connection cant keep up, even in high quality it does the same.

[stream.hls][error] Failed to open segment 1506: Unable to open URL: http://vide o21.sfo01.hls.ttvnw.net/hls-4e4a44/notmes_14083619504_233589096/chunked/index-00 00001506-3DcI.ts (404 Client Error: Not Found) i get crapload of these errors and the stream loops

Checked my router and noticed i got like 6000+ FEC downstream errors dunno if that makes any difference
