i really want my wifi!

DSL light usually should be solid, not flashing, off, flashing, off etc. I suspect no DSL sync. Do you have other jack points around the home you can try. You need a solid DSL light before you will get any further.

The supplied modem doesn't need to have a password entered so not sure where or why you're doing this?

Can you confirm if you have moved to Spark from another provider, or if this is a new connection?

I take it that as you're talking of a DSL light, that this is ADSL or VDSL, and not Fibre?

The WiFi light being on has nothing to do with your broadband connection. It's the DSL light that needs to be on, constantly and not flashing.

If this is a new connection for VDSL, there should also be a technician visiting to install a master splitter and separate jackpoint for the modem.

I think you mean buy another mobile data pack. ;-)

Just a small note to all, you MUST have a username and password in your modem/RGW.  If you do not you will not get service.
Doesn't particularly matter what they are (so long as you don't put any funky characters in it), but they MUST NOT be blank.

Sounds like the OP has a no DSL issue though ....

But the info in the OP and subsequent posts indicates the modem is supplied by Spark though.

The modem supplied by Spark already has the username/password set. There is no need for user interaction here. Plug and play.

Authentication not working is sometimes caused my your WI-FI device not supporting the security encryption that the modem is using.

It's not easy for me to tell you what to do as I don't think you will be able to follow it through, you need to connect the modem to your laptop with the network cable, then test if you have internet, if you do then you need to log into the modem and change it's WI-FI security password and/or security encryption.

If you connect the modem to your laptop with a network cable and you still don't have internet then you first need to sort that out which is most likely your problem give that you have said the DSL light it's solid green and is blinking which usually indicates the modem is trying to sync to the exchange.

If you can post a picture of the setup you have, with the lights in the front and the back or under the modem showing the model number and brand.

I had that problem.

I had to factory reset the modem. Then broadband worked.

Try factory reset. If it didn't work you haven't lost much.

Your question is not clear, but...

You do realize that your modem has to connect to the ADSL service first?
This is why people have been asking you about this.

Secondly, once the router has connected to the internet, you need to connect your wireless device(s) to the wifi in order to access the internet.

Can you confirm what lights are showing on the router?

On reading your email i strongly suspect your question is actually:
"I have a new spark supplied wifi router" how can i find the details to log on to it's wifi ie what is the ssid and wireless password?"

If that is the question, isn't it usually on the bottom of the modem?
or did they stop doing that.

ah, the mods should change the question to "how do I connect to wifi on new Spark router" ...

and maybe edit the original post to "new naked broadband connection with spark. I'm not sure if the connection is working. I also cannot get the router to accept my wifi password. help"
