Hi there, I have transfered some mp3s from my computer to use as ringtones. But when I select my content in the ringtone menu it says I must download content. Where am I going wrong? Any help would be great, thankyou

You can't use mp3's you have transfered across that way as ring tones. However you can get around this, but its not exactly easy.

There are lots of sites on the net that will teach you how to do it, but basicall you must convert it to mp4, use qualcom software to view the filesystem, copy the mp4 file over to the phone using the qualcom program, edit a couple of hex files on the phone and voila.

Not exactly a copy and paste method.

Alternatively after you have converted the mp3 to mp4, you can upload it to certain sites, then browse to the site using the WAP function on your phone (7c per KB????) and download it that way.

I forget the sites i used for reference, so all i can suggest is use your friend, google.

sorry if this was a bit vague but its been a while since i did this and I lost interest and many hours of my time after doing this.

oh yea thats right.

still for all the effort you can either download 400kb for $4, buy a song for $4, or spend 4 hours trying to figure out the long way.

That does sound very complicated. Its annoying because my partners samgung
w531 has the option in the menu to select mp3 as ringtone. Guess they dont do that for the whole range
