Can I share data between devices on Skinny?

If I'm on a monthly combo can I get a GST invoice for the monthly combo (not for the actual top ups)?

Are people generally happy on Skinny and how have you found Living Skinny compared to where you were previously?

No, currently I don't believe Skinny have shareable data plans unfortunately.

I switched from Vodafone to Skinny a few months ago and in general I'm pretty happy. I love the flexibility of being able to top up as little as a need to, and find their 4g coverage and speed (Spark network) to be as good if not better than Vodafone's in the areas I spend most of my time (Manukau and Central Auckland).

Vodafone is tempting me back with the Vodafone X $16 prepay deal though, with $3 500mb data add ons. That data isn't rollover though. But I digress.

I am another happy Skinny user.

Good mobile coverage. Great packages (I use the $16 combo, my wife has the $9 plan and my daughter is also on the $16 combo). On the $16 combo, there are unmetered calls between Skinny users. Calls and TXTs to Australia are included. Data and call time rollover, and I now have accumulated enough data and call time that I don't hesitate to make voice calls or use data. Payment is completely automated. What is there not to like? It works for us :)

Only two things missing... HD voice, and no data use in Australia - and the Data use in Australia in coming soon... so I believe :)

After being on 2 degrees ever since they launched, I decided to switch to Skinny in March and am very glad I did. The key issue for me is the unreliability of our local Vodafone site at Kawakawa East. It has fairly frequent outages, and when it does, we've previously had no phone or internet because our RBI service comes from there. The Spark network provides superior coverage at our place and so far I've experienced no outages apart from the 2-hour one on the afternoon of Anzac Day, which affected everyone nationwide on the Spark network.

Other things I like are the $16 combo which works really well for me, and the ability to buy 1GB of extra data for $10. I've used that twice this month as we've been away from home a lot, and it's so convenient compared to hotel WiFi with the need to login etc. One place we stayed at would only permit one WiFi device at a time, and between the four of us we had 6! Another place permitted 4 simultaneous WiFi logins which was fine.

As adida101 commented above, I also like the ability to top-up in small amounts without being slapped with a $20 minimum.

Finally, Skinny's website works well on a mobile phone compared to the 2 degrees one. The 'Dashboard' provides a very quick snapshot of my account with everything visible in one place. They even record incoming calls which I've never seen with any other telco.

One very minor gripe is the lack of an app for Windows Phone, but as just mentioned, the mobile website is almost as good, except for a few occasions when I have to click twice if trying to login via Facebook.

I was going to switch to skinny from Spark, the only thing that stopped me was their lack of roaming countries.

I switched from Spark to Skinny a few weeks back and so far have really enjoyed them (their $46 plan). The coverage is mirrored with Spark and 4G works just the same with the same sorts of speeds also. I am honestly impressed with their self service functions and when I phoned them up regarding what is happening with my number port they answered the phone in a matter of a few minutes and were really helpful.

Basically I have recommended them to my flatmate who is currently on Vodafone (and he is switching) as well as a few other people. I didn't have any issues with Spark but Skinnys $46 plan was really appealing for my level of usage. I say go for it data sharing or not.

For me, the main thing they are missing is call forwarding. If I could use the data in Australia, that would partially mitigate the issue, but I'd still prefer to have the forwarding as my mobile becomes my main Internet connection, and other services work out quite a bit cheaper.

Yes. Go to Account History > Payment history and View GST Receipt.

If you buy top up's from the shop you would get the GST Reciept from the shop, if you bought it online you can get gst reciepts from the website

Very hard to get a compliant invoice from a dairy. And even most retailers only supply a thermal paper one which can fade within the 7 years you're required to keep records if it's a business expense.

Certainly not big business, but NZ is a nation of small businesses and in a drive to remain competitive they do seek the best bang for their business buck - I know I do. It surely couldn't be that difficult to keep the transaction information available in the interest of remaining attractive for those users, especially given they're on the Spark network which, in my experience, provides a coverage that is a bonus for business users.
