Just reading the great Touch topic, and wanted to know how Skype works out price wise with telecom's/vodafone's data plans?  You would definitely need to sign up to a decent data plan with the phone?  Could commit financial suicide with casual mobile broadband!  (definitely not for roaming in Aussie!)  Can you access skype from a wifi hotspot?

Enquiring minds want to know...

You really need to be on the 1GB plan (costing around $50 per month) to avoid a nasty bill shock if using Skype for any decent amount of time.

I found that Skype worked really well over Telecom's Mobile Broadband so long as you were in a Rev.A coverage area.  With Rev.0 it worked OK much of the time if the signal strength was good.  Bandwidth with Rev.0 was a little marginal for comfort though.

This was on a laptop with Telecom Mobile Broadband Data Card rather than a phone, but I guess the results should be similar.
