Is it standard procedure or not for Chorus to install CAT5 or better when doing the installation/set up?
When mine was done the technician tried to do the rewiring but found he was too heavy for the ceiling beams. He asked headquarters if they could send out someone lighter but they said no and to make do with the existing wiring. Was this acceptable practice?
Snap's website says "A Chorus technician will install a dedicated VDSL compatible splitter at the premise demarcation (the point where services enter the building) and a new data grade cable to the selected DSL jack point within the premises."
Does Spark have a different agreement? Each time I query this I get a different answer from Spark from "I understand that the service that chorus has given does sound poor and should be rectified"(their exact words from an email), the woman on phone support basically had no idea about anything, to "Cat 5 is on the discretion of the tech. as far as i am aware"(also from an email).
Can anyone clarify this?
