Hi, I am looking to upgrade my current modem and am unsure about what pppoe/pppoa mean in terms of what modems I can use. My current one (Netgear DGND3300) uses PPPOA but the manual for the one I want to buy (D-Link DIR-868L) states it is PPPOE. Will this still connect to my Spark ADSL ok?
Thanks

That thing looks like a router to me.

If you want to use it you'll need to get a modem separately.

It's a router only, so to use with ADSL you'll need something like a Draytek Vigor 120

Ah ok yes I see that now.

In a more general context will any modem/router readily available in New Zealand work with Spark?

In general, any telepermitted ADSL2+ modem sold in NZ should be fine.
