sorry to ask in the Spark forum but there isn't a sub-forum for Wireless Nation.

I couldn't see a PPPoE setting in the ADSL or VDSL section my Spark/Huawei modem that I want to recycle and use with my new Wireless Nation connection

If you are using your own hardware, you will need set up the device with the following settings:

PPP Username: xxxxxx@wirelessnation.co.nz
PPP PW: xxxxxxxx

You will also need to check the following settings are correct:

---ADSL Modem---
Encapsulation: PPPoE
Multiplexing: LLC
Virtual Circuit VPI = 8, VCI = 81
DSL Modulation: multimode

---VDSL Modem---
Encapsulation: PPPoE
Layer 2 Interface: PTM
DSL Latency: Path0
Enter 802.1P Priority: -1(or 1)(Optional)
VLAN ID: -1(or 1)

The wireless nation tech is coming at 4:30pm to do the install. I will get him to help me.

Their product is called 'cable over fibre' - the body corporate didn't want surplus wiring and cabling ruining the heritage look of our apartment building, so they cancelled my previous order with Spark. "Building manager consent denied".
But they never called or emailed me to let me know, so I was waiting on a cancelled order..!

I guess it's going to be VDSL2 from fibre in the basement along the copper wires to my pad.

Anyone know how it works technically?
Can they start a Wireless Nation sub forum here?

Should be able to reconfigure the Fibre connection and take off the VLAN Tagging and you should be away.

I assume they just have a regular Ethernet connection for Wireless Nation, then you just PPPoE from there over a ethernet connection rather than ADSL or VDSL.

There is a .1p marking that has "10" in it. Set that to 0, then set the username and password accordingy and you should be away.

Otherwise if it's ADSL or VDSL, you should just need to modify those profiles and set the correct username & password.
