Hi I am on VDSL plans but are still getting large upload errors including very bad service with VOIP ie I can clearly hear the person talking to me but it is very broken when they hear me DTMF tones are so garbled that account / pin numbers do not work.

My Question is could it be possible to switch to ADSL for a period of time to see if this resolves the issue.

If any tech wants to call me on the VOIP line to hear the issue they are welcome to do so.

I have not changed any settings on my VOIP adapter which was working fine back at my old place with fibre and previous to that ADSL.

Changing to a slower internet connection is highly unlikely to improve your VoIP experience. If anything it'll make it worse.
If you have something downloading/uploading on your line while you're using the VoIP it's likely to negatively affect the VoIP call, as it'll be fighting (and likely winning) the fight for bandwidth.
