Has anyone recently signed up for fibre in Christchurch?

Signed up more than a month ago, got a confirmation email saying someone from Enable will be in contact within 5 days.

Just wanting to know if there's that much of a delay for new installations. Should we have receive a wireless router from Spark aswell by now?

Are you in an established area or a new sub division?
Any consenting issues i.e. are you down a ROW,  will they need to dig up your driveway etc?

I'm assuming your order is tracking on par with timings (give a search of the other threads people have started etc).

Enable work slightly different to Chorus in the following ways:

When Spark (or any RSP) order a fibre product with Chorus, any progress updates as your order goes through the consent/design/build/confirmation stages are fed back to the RSP as they occur. These updates are then generally relayed to the end customer by the RSP. The same goes for when the installation date is confirmed.

However Enable look after their process end to end. The job gets submitted to Enable, and they keep the end customer updated directly. The RSP generally only gets advised when the installation is actually complete.

I do know there is currently a backlog with orders passing through Spark's provisioning teams which has led to some delays, however you should have heard something by now I would have thought. Can you please PM me your Spark phone number (if you have one) or your Spark account number? I will have a look to see what the state of play is.

Many thanks,
Simon

I am interested as well to know what the current waiting times are at Enable from order date to installation for a simple installation (No ROWs etc).

4 weeks after placing the order was the first contact from Enable, they're coming tomorrow for the first scope then coming back Tuesday week to do the install. Not sure what the delay will be for the last visit
