Hey guys

I signed up to MyRepublic in December. They initiated the installation of UFB to my apartment building. In July I discovered BigPipe, liked their plans, and their social media presence, better. I cancelled my MyRepublic order (to which they called me twice and REALLY didn't want to cancel) and signed up with BigPipe.

Fast forward to yesterday, I get an email from BigPipe saying my pre-install check is going to happen on the 10th, with the install on the 15th of September.

Then today, I get an automated text from MyRepublic saying that a Chorus technician is coming to my house this coming Friday (the 28th of August) to do the install. I contacted BigPipe and explained all this and received a reply (more or less immediately - amazing) telling me to cancel the install with MyRepublic.

Before I do that, I just wanted to be doubly sure I can't just get connected on Friday and then have BigPipe use that ONT rather than the one to be installed on the 15th (given I'll have UFB almost 3 weeks faster that way)

Thanks in advance

Bandit

You could do that, but make sure you're on a no contract plan with MyRepublic.

I would also wait until the ONT is installed and working before cancelling the other order. Fibre orders are notoriously bad for having delays, so if one go bad you would still have another order booked for not too long. Right now if you need to rebook a fibre install you're looking at a few weeks.

I already have in writing my several requests to cancel service at MyRepublic

Hi,

Definitely not quite right here.  We're going to have a dig around and see what we can do from our end to get the best outcome for you.  Felix is looking into it for you and will be in contact soon.

Cheers
