As the title suggests, I'm currently considering a move to Bigpipe from Snap. Just wondering if anyone has made the same move and what their experience has been like? I'm assuming my FRITZ!Box 7360 would work without too many issues?

We've had quite a few people come across. Experience should be fine. Transitions on ufb between providers is one of the more seamless experiences you can have. No need for technicians to visit etc. it's all done remotely, so there's much less to go wrong.
You can keep using your same router (with a small setting change to remove vlan tagging, we can talk you through if needed)

We've also got a switching promo on at the moment too, so use the promo code SNAPPEDUP when you sign up to get your first month for free on any plan. (This only works for switching ISPs at the same address)

Thanks for the response. Looking through more of this forum, the consensus is generally a good one. You've got yourself a new customer.

That is a great promo.  Does it have an expiry date and is it available to those who have been Bigpipe customers in the past?

Actually I've never checked that - can you not send tagged packets down an untagged UNI connection? Always wondered if untagged means it'll just ignore the tag and still work with it enabled.

from what I understand, Snap use VLAN tagging on their UFB, which means existing customers will have this ticked on their modems by default, and will need to be changed when they switch to us.

AFAIK if you have it set wrong in your router, then the connection simply won't work at all.

Hi,  only for new customers - but the definition of that is having had a Bigpipe connection in the last 12 months.  i.e. if you've had a connection with us in the last 12 months, you aren't eligible.  If it's 12 months or more, then you are eligible.

currently it runs to the end of this month, but we may (or may not) extend it or change it in September.

Thanks, I was a customer until January so I don't qualify.  I would have stayed a customer if you had UFB available in Wellington a little sooner.

ah, fair enough.
If you're wanting to switch back your UFB to us we can make an exception I think in this case (since we like geekzoners).
If you decide to come back, use that promo code and PM me your email address and I'll make sure you get the offer.

Cheers
