Hi, I have an observation that I would I want to clarify if it's normal or not.

On the HG630b, the LAN ports flash once a second and send out 512 bytes to the LAN.

I'm not sure why. Does it do this on other units people have or do I have a faulty onboard switch?

It seems to function perfectly fine. Except all the LAN ports flash exactly every second. I've disconnected everything and just hung a switch of the ports and they still flash every second.

I'm guessing the Spark firmware is polling the ports every second for some reason.

I'm starting to wonder if it could be using spanning tree on the on-board switch.

I tried logging in via telnet but the login and password are not the same as the web interface.

What is the content of the data coming out? There are heaps of things on the routers for mDNS, upnp, and other services so I expect its just normal broadcast "hey im here" type stuff.
