Hi Bigpipe - the UFB cables are in our street and switched on apparently - so UFB is available to order - very exciting.
Just a couple of probably stupid questions.....

I am not quite clear on whether there is the facility to 'print an invoice' from the account area - can this be done?

Secondly - the UFB install costs are all paid by the government UFB project (within reason) aren't they - ie its not going to cost any more with you for a new install than anyone else is it?

1. There isn't. The account section only has the option to change your credit card. Nothing else. You have to use the PDF attached to the invoice email if you want to print something.

2. It costs $49 with Bigpipe. Most other national ISPs (which I am aware of) don't charge anything, but are on 12 month contracts (these ISPs usually provide a router, too.) That said, Bigpipe currently (until end of Nov) have a "first month free" promotion which most other ISPs don't seem to.

OK - so you get emailed an invoice - thats fine.
Wasnt aware they had a first month free - will check it out.

spot on.

(bear in mind that if you are talking about business needs, you actually don't need to have paper copies of invoices for the taxman (a fairly common misconception). you can just leave the email in your inbox and that is fine

The $49 is to cover our own costs, since we don't have a term contract, but yes you can get first month free.
AFAIK if you take 'no contract' with other ISPs, the cost upfront is significantly higher than that

(if your house is lucky enough to have the ONT already installed, then you can have 2 months free.)
