I recently bought a Pantech tx215c and it was working fine untill my friend put an lock on it and now it is telling me to unlock whenever I turn it on. He has since forgotten the combination so I am trying to find a master reset code or master unlock code. Does anyone have any ideas?

many phones reset their pin code when the phone is renammed (to the last 4 digits of the phone number). I know Sanyo and some Samsungs do this, I don't know about Pantech. Try going to a Telecom store, as we don't allow posting of service codes here.

Ok. This makes me sound like a complete fool haha but what do you mean by renammed? Also, is it possible to reset the phone to remove the pin without having to take it into a store?

Thats cool I respect the rules. One more question though, can I reprogram this phone by myself?

given that you dont know what the codes are, or the ins and outs of programming a phone on the Telecom network, id say not. Why don't you just go to a Telecom store?

You can call your nearest store, and they 'might' talk it through with you over the phone.

goodluck on reprogramming, but im 99% sure, it wont unlock your ph.
not only should you charge your mate for the gas to telecom store, have him pay to unlock the ph at the telecom store.

If it won't unlock when re-programmed it will have to be sent away so the local store won't be keeping the loot...

What a terrible generalisation. Most of the people helping you here are 'nosy Telecom people'.

Choose your words wisely, or expect zero help.

No, you take your phone to a Telecom store, ask them nicely to re-nam it because of the lock code, and they should be able to unlock it right there and then.  Who wants to look at your stuff?  I hate it when customers come in and want help with messages etc (and even music) then won't let you touch the darn phone because you might see something.  Surely you are not one of those, are you?  Oh, and by the way, my mother always said never write anything in your diary that you don't want anyone else to see.  That probably goes for mobile phones in this day and age.  Why haven't you just rung Telecom?  It probably could have been done by now...
