Yes, that's right, you heard it hear first folks.

Bigpipe UFB is now available in the lovely city of Christchurch.

If your property already has an ONT installed, you can get an awesome offer of your first two months absolutely free by using UFBSWITCH as your promo code.

(and what's more you still don't need to take a nasty contract)

Enjoy everybody!

Great news, just got to wait and see now if my landlord and neighbours will consent!
I had been trying to decide whether to switch phone to 2degrees to get bundle discount with 2degrees, or whether to switch internet to Spark (from 2degrees) to get the discount there, but BigPipe are discounted anyway and 100/20 for the price of 30/10 elsewhere.

end of Jan (31st).

We may choose to extend it, but can't be certain about that.

Is there any reason I cannot sign up online; I have an existing fibre connection in Christchurch.

Unfortunately there are subdivisions around that the developers went with Chorus and not Enable. So stupid if you as me, it screws the end user as Isps will have bugger all handovers with Chorus down here.

could be a few reasons.  Address checkers are never 100% perfect, and also we don't offer UFB via Chorus in Christchurch yet

Best bet is to drop our team a note here with your address and they can run a manual check for you.

correct.  for CHCH we only offer UFB via enable.  It simply isn't worth it for an ISP of our size to put a UFB handover in for such a small population - it wouldn't pay off for us.  sorry about that,

I don't see any mention of a landline phone with your UFB?

correct, we only sell broadband. No landlines

You can use your mobile, or get voip with another provider (e.g. 2talk). up to you

(personally, my mobile has more than enough minutes so I don't need the hassle of a landline where the only calls I receive are from cold callers or people telling me my windows PC has a virus)

Digital Ventures (the same folks behind BigPipe) also run a lovely mobile provider called Skinny. You might have heard about them, they're a pretty awesome bunch.

Long story cut short. If you use the phone all the time and can live with just a mobile Skinny likely have a prepaid deal for you. I am personally on $46 per month for unlimited calling and texting as well as 2.5gb rollover data. They also run off Sparks network (3G and 4G) with the exact same coverage footprint. If you're thinking about changing to BigPipe ditching the landline and going 100% mobile is so easy (and cheap) these days. Honestly, NZ is pretty awesome.
