I know there are a few people that have had issues with mobile in Greytown. Have been out of town for a few weeks and have just found a new cell site in the middle of town.

Now we get a full 3g/4g signal when previously depending on where I was in the house I would get 2-no bars.

The cell site is 850mhz 3g and 700mhz LTE.

Hopefully 2Degrees and Vodafone follow suit.

Are you sure that's not the brand new Vodafone site that went up about a month or so ago? From memory it's next to Turkey Red pub.

@johnr  Ill have to go have a look I have not seen it.
Only one of the people over for Christmas is on Vodafone and he had 3 bars outside so we did not think there was any improvement but ill go for a walk in the next few days.

Overall a great improvement for the town as coverage has been patchy at best in the past and you could miss calls because of black spots in the house.

@mckenndk Might have been 3 bars 4G 1800Mhz on a handset that does not support 700Mhz band 28,

Will have a look tomorrow it was an Iphone 6+ but I don't know the bands it has.

Had a walk up to the telephone exchange and yes there is a new cell tower there too.

Good on Spark and Vodafone for finally coming to the party and giving the town coverage.

I noticed a new cell tower recently sprout up in the front lawn of the Greytown Exchange, my guess is thats the new Spark site, or as its now a Chorus Exchange I guess it could be a voda one.
