Hi all,
Wife runs her own consulting business, uses Google Apps for email/calendar etc.  What would be a good phone on Telecom for accessing, replying, updating this stuff?  Okta Touch seems ideal I guess, anything else worthwhile?  She's currently on Voda, so may get switching bonuses and my company cell is Telecom so cost benefits of being on same network.

Appreciate any ideas, cheers.
G.

I guess it would all come down to personal preference.

The Okta Touch has quite a small profile, but you may find no qwerty keyboard may be a pain if its going to be used for emails a lot. But then again some people dont mind / quite like the onscreen qwerty keyboard.

The Palm Treo has the full keyboard, but smaller keys / screen size than the HTC Titan.

The Okta Boss is also a contender, but smaller screen yet again than the Treo, but has a decent sized slide out qwerty keyboard.

I wouldnt really recommend the Okta Agent.

Again, i think it would say that it depends on usage, and personal preference.  Im sure a lot of the people that frequent here could give you better pros and cons of all the devices than i have, but the best advice i could give would be to pop into a local Telecom store and try out a few of the devices and see which one seems the best suited.

Personally however, im still a fan of the Okta Touch.

I agree with the Okta Touch option, I dont think lack of keyboard is an issue and in fact I think she might get very use to the transcriber option. I have noticed a lot of women once they get use to that method really like it. It has all the functionality you have stated plus more. Get her, to go into a telecom store and ask for a demo, lastly it is number portable compliant meaning she gets to keep her 021 number

Alright, thanks for that advice.

One question re Touch - is there a better text message "client" than the standard WM6 one?   As opposed to having to go to text messages, tap menu, try to tap that tiny new, trying to tap that tiny To:?

Cheers
G

Maybe answering my own question here actually - can you use the arrow/button pad to scroll through those easily?
