Recently moved house requiring downgrade from Bigpipe UFB to VDSL; BigPipe VDSL was supposed to be connected at new house today.

Using a recycled VF HG659 I flashed BigPipe's firmware and connected directly to phone jack.

Modem is showing "ADSL_2plus" stats below but doesn't seem to have any connection.

Any ideas?

My BigPipe referral code someone maybe able to use to look into my account: 31429cab-cb8b-4e59-a2bb-54420e8a72ad

  1. Try all the phone jacks in the house
  2. If that doesn't help, log a fault

All jacks appear the same.

Tried emailing BP yesterday 6pm then tried through contact form around 9pm; no reply yet going on 5 helpdesk hours later.

Just wondering if those line stats look correct for VDSL (i.e. has it actually been connected by Chorus?) and whether it's just a case of BP assigning an IP or something on their end?

have your tried the modem in the other jacks?

you could still be on an ADSL profile and all that many need to be done is it be switched to VDSL

That likely isn't a Bigpipe line. It's likely the result of the wrong line being connected to your address by the Chorus technician.

If you have the correct settings for Bigpipe on your modem (you do if you're running their firmware) and the line is connected to them you will get an IP address, and either internet or this error page.

I gather that this isnt a new House but one that someone else has just moved out of  - If that is the case then the line more than likely still has a ADSL connection from the exchange or cabinet equipment ( they arent generaly disconnected but just deactivated - just like what happens with a phone line) a DSL modem that is plugged into the line will still get sync but no connection to a provider. Looks like your VDSL service hasnt been provisioned on the existing card or your service hasnt been connected to a VDSL capable card yet -

Contact Bigpipe (as above )to ask questions

That's pretty much what happened; apparently no order was placed with Chorus for some reason however finally up and running on VDSL now.

Thanks @BigPipe for coming through in the end.

Next question; should I bother hooking up a master filter or does it look alright as is?:

(There are about 3x phone jacks in the house only 1x used for VDSL only)

Even if you're not using the other 3 phone jacks, they are reducing your VDSL performance.

So disconnect the unused phone wires &/or install a master filter.
