Can some one advise if they what code to enter to txt a uk mobile ie = +44 then drop the first 0 of the number?

Yes like AU would be +61 drop leading 0

I entered 00+44 -1st 0 and that seemed to work OK

The correct area code for the UK is +44. But seems you have sorted it out already!

That may work but you still don't need the leading '00', just +44 (-1st 0) will do.
