I put Skinny Broadband in at our local church with a 2talk phone line over the top, to replace an old Spark DSL/homeline plan that was costing them megabucks.  I had to run a VPN back to my house (on UFB) as I couldn't get 2talk to work over Skinny's CGNAT.

This is the smokeping for the VPN:

Jitter has got a lot worse in the last week or two and the VoIP has started cutting out quite a bit.

Can Skinny do anything about this?  We're out of our "first 30 days reception guarantee" by a month or two.  I'm already a bit annoyed because Geekzone posts suggested that 2talk worked over Skinny quite well at launch, but it clearly doesn't anymore.

Can you please send me an email with your address, Broadband Modem and Mobile number and I will get the team to do network traces to see if we can see what is happening.

The answer from tech support was:

...in regards to VOIP service as per Skinny Broadbands T &C's Skinny Broadband doesn't actually support VOIP service this will be why the service is quite patchy you may find unfortuantely theres not much you can do to improve this connection.

Anyone want to buy a second hand Skinny modem?

Sorry to hear you haven't been able to solve the phone issue at your church. Did you ever consider something like this:

A prepaid SIM in one of these would seem the easiest solution. Could even be easily 'split' to join in the second phone in the other building, (20m away with phone line already in place IIRC?)

The phone line to the second building (the manse i.e. minister's residence) isn't in use right now, we have an intern minister in her own house and a tenant renting the manse.

I switched then to Flip which has been absolutely fine -- should have put them on Flip in the first place.  Was going to install a master splitter but the DSL performance is fine (18/2.5 thanks to Annex M).

As load builds on the mobile network peak latency sensitive applications like VoIP may be impacted

By the way, I sold the modem (to a geekzone member) a few weeks ago, so you can all stop asking to buy it :-)
