If you're on UFB then you're able to just use the WRT1900AC just as-is.

you shouldn't do,
if you have UFB there is no such thing as a modem, that only applies to copper services (xDSL)
If you're staying on UFB (if Bigpipe provides UFB in your area) then it should be fine.
If you're moving to xDSL you will need a modem
Kiwiwolf: they tell me I need a modem as well as a router. Why do I need this if I didnt with MR?
As others are pointing out, assuming you are planning on connecting to Bigpipe using fibre (and, of course, you need to be in an area where we offer fibre) this is entirely not not uncorrect.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You can connect to our fibre plans using just a router. You can check whether we offer fibre at your location by running your address through the checker at our website and seeing what plans are available.
