Hi all,

I upgraded to Spark Fibre recently and noticed my connection never keeps me connected for more than couple of days. Is that normal?

I have the Huawei HG659b modem. Is there a setting to keep the connection alive?

I have Getflix and I needed to update my IP almost everyday... just wanna avoid paying $15 extra for a static IP!

Cheers!

Because you're not on a Static IP you'll need to use a Dynamic DNS service like http://www.noip.com/

Set this up on your router and set it up in your Getflix portal too. From here, when your address changes your Dynamic DNS changes and so does Getflix.

If your line is dropping every 4 hours potentially the provisioning on the Spark side hasn't been completed.

If your IP changes on a 4 hourly basis then use online chat and say that it's causing an issue.

Normally your IP address should not change for as long as the router doesn't get rebooted.

That being said Michael is right the best solution is getting a Static IP.
