I'm on the 2degrees 100/50 UFB plan, with phone , for $149 per month.

I could upgrade to 2degrees 200/200 for $155 per month

Or, I could shift to Spark, with phone, 200/200 UFB, free spotify, free lightbox, for $149pm.

The only thing I'm wondering , my connection speeds with 2degrees have been near perfect, never any slowdowns at any time.

I'm just wondering, if the same would apply with spark?

So, Spark subscribers, are you happy with your connection speeds?

I'm a pretty picky user.. I work in enterprise IT and have a better understanding of networking than most users, I'm a gamer so latency and routing are important to me, and I like to stream and acquire "linux iso's" as well.

I spend most of my time staying somewhere with a Spark UFB connection (rest of the time at a premises with Vodafone Cable) , and yes, absolutely very happy with it. It's absolutely the UFB ISP I'd currently most recommend to users who still require a landline. If you don't need a landline (or can live with VOIP) then go BigPipe.

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. Check out Truenet (https://truenet.nz/) - It's a NZ site that collates monthly comparisons of live users across all technologies (ADSL, Fibre, Cable) ranked by ISP / Provider.

Show's peak time traffic dips etc - really handy to see.

I chose 2Degrees partly because of this site :)

Lias: If you don't need a landline (or can live with VOIP) then go BigPipe.

Bear in mind that Bigpipe's coverage isn't great.

In anycase, I would suggest bigpipe.

Spark use the ONT for voice which is IMO a more robust product than locking you into a router from the ISP that adds voice to it. That is if voice matters to you.

If it doesnt then bigpipe would be my choice. They answer tickets in a timely manner and will actually read them when you put what troubleshooting you have done and will just send it to chorus on the first contact.

Whereas another ISP even when the first email contact said the state of the optical and lan lights then went and asked for them and for a PC to be directly connected to the router without other stuff etc. Clearly ignoring the ticket other than the selection of "no internet working" and just chose the default canned response after 6 hours waiting.

If I was to move to another provider it would be to Spark, some of my family use them for UFB and very happy with the connection.

I expect you're certainly getting a more resilient product with Spark than with some ISPs, and no issues with speed. Not so good if you need a static IP address though

Thx, some good feedback to consider.

Definitely leaning towards spark with the free lightbox/spotify thrown in.....plus they said I may be able to negotiate a promotional rate as a new customer.

2degrees have been good, but I think the competition has improved.

How do you get Spotify with Spark when you are NOT subscribed to their mobile plans?

I am with Spark UFB and can say it's awesome so far - no glitches. Interested to see if I can get Spotify free too

I know I can get Lightbox, Spark Thanks, Movie tickets and free anti-virus which I use but did not realise spotify is free on UFB plans?

When I compared them I found 2degrees to be superior latency wise. Though your mileage may vary! :-)
