I signed up for Skinny Direct service and popped in a skinnydirect provided sim card to my cell phone (iPhone 6). I deactivated the wifi connection on my phone and dialled 456 as they mentioned on the instruction sheet provided. After a while, I received a text message that my SIM card was activated.

Now, when I go to log on to SkinnyDirect website, and put in my cellphone number (I moved from my old provider and decided to keep my old phone number), I cannot log in. i tried to log in with the email address I provided at sign up time, I still cannot log in with the correct password. I opted for "Forgot Password" and SkinnyDirect sent me reset password link. I used the link to reset password, and yet I cannot enter the website.

I dialled 456 on SkinnyDirect and an automated voice message system told me my renewal time, the balance on the account (full balance of course as it was barely five minutes into the SIM card insertion thing). I downloaded the SkinnyDirect App, still no luck in trying to get to their website.

Can you help? Has anyone else faced a similar situation? I will call the customer support during their official hour, but is there a faster solution?

Best,

Arin Basu

Disable WiFi on your phone then go into the site - you shouldn't need to sign in.

Thank you for your responses greatly appreciate. I found out:

1. I needed to reboot the phone several times for the app to work.

2. While I was waiting for the old phone number to be ported to my Skinny Direct account, I had to use the phone number provided on the SIM card to log in to the site. That worked, but not my email address and password combination

3. The phone number was ported overnight, then again the Skinny Direct app froze. The phone also did not work till I had to reboot the phone at least twice.

4. Once the number was ported over, the Skinny Direct app stopped working, :-), so had to uninstall and reinstall it. Still did not work. The workaround was to access the SkinnyDirect website and log in using the new number. Then, when I fired up the Skinny Direct app, it started working.

Now, the problem is that, Skinny Direct's 3G is _very_ slow.

Almost to the point of being unusable.

I'll probably give up on this service if this continues. Oh well.

Any guidance? Any words to the wise?
