So, fiber became available yesterday (:happydance:), according to Chorus. 2Deg and others already show that I can order it, but I want to go with BigPipe.... who are only showing VDSL (which I have).

 

Anyone know how often their database updates? On twitter they said "use the chat box", but even with ghostery off, I can't get it to show up :(

You need to put your address in and search for plans before chat shows up afaik.

Hi Nic,

 

 

 

I live on Waiheke, and Chorus address checked was showing I could get Fibre, but the Bigpipe one wouldn't let me sign up. I sent them an email saying it was available at my place (it definitely was, the boxes have been on the powerpoles for 18 months now, had been there about 12 months when I applied) and they came back saying it was and their DB was a bit out of date. They pushed the connection through manually. I was all connected within a couple of weeks. Been with them for 6 months now, no problems.

Yeah, thats what I'm trying to do, too - the Chorus website just updated _yesterday_ saying I can get it, but nothing on their site... I'll try another browser and see if I can get the Chat up with that.

Was in Trig Hill. In Ostend now. THeir Live Chat should sort it - they were great to deal with when I asked them about it (I think they look at a different tool to what their webpage is using).

All sorted - got hold of them by chat, now just trying to work out why Chorus wants a consent, given there is no one to get consent from :)
