Hi, I have Skinny Broadband and use the Huawei modem/router that they sent me. It's not a particularly great piece of gear and would rather use my Linksys WRT1600ACS running DD-Wrt, using a plug in Huawei E8372-608. This is a USB device that features the 700mhz LTE band, but I can't get it to authenticate to the Skinny network. Is this because Skinny only allow authorised devices to connect? If so, it seems a bit unreasonable to not allow people to use their own networking equipment! Is anybody aware if this is the reason?

Yes it locked to the device and yes there are a number of reasons why this is the case and why it's the only device supported for this product offering.
