Hello - I have recently ported Vodafone number to Spark due to work reasons; the number is the same. I am not receiving any MMS and causing problems. iMessage works perfectly fine / multiple text messages work okay. However - realised that MMS is not being received on my end. How can I get this rectified? I already lost valuable time around this... as the sender thought I received but I didn't and I have been waiting and waiting...

Help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I ported my dad's number from Vodafone to Skinny and encountered the same issue. He ported months ago and I think the issue is still there. He doesn't receive many MMS messages so I haven't bothered to try get it fixed.

He has an iPhone 5C.

Can you send MMS? Try sending a MMS to your own mobile number

Yes - I read the Skinny to VF port issues / didn't see one for Spark so posting another one here.

Thanks - I just turned off iMessage and I can send it to myself and received. I tried MMS from my mother in law's VF - it didn't come.

If I remember correctly you need to send a MMS on Sparks network to activate the MMS service. A bit archaic really.

Remember you also need data turned on and the message costs $1. Failing this I would contact Spark through the chat service. Its likely the service is not active.

This page did the trick for me:
http://www.spark.co.nz/help/mobile-data/device/os/android/android-4-x-support/check-sparkmms-apn-settings-android-4-x/

There's other good articles in Spark's knowledgebase if you search for "MMS" too.

Cheers

Thanks - I searched but nothing for iPhones. I think their Spark Carrier Setting should really have that already loaded on to the devices. I am on version 26.

If you can send/received MMS to yourself, this mean that your MMS setting is correct.

It also mean that sending/receiving MMS from Spark/Skinny would be okay too. Give it a try maybe ?

Inter-carrier MMS work a bit differntly. Are you able to send MMS to her ? and she can receive it.

Thanks everyone - it seems to be working as of today. MMS I sent using from VF have now arrived on my Spark network iPhone.

I did turn off iMessage first then sent a couple of MMS then turned iMessage back on.

It may take overnight for it to be activated.

Geekzone is fantastic; lots of experts here and I appreciate everyone's suggestions. Thanks.

Just been troubleshooting MMS messages between some iphone and android devices this afternoon.

The advise here worked. I seemed to have to send an MMS on a number first to activate the feature, before the device could receive one.

This is a massive f'up. I'f I've got 100 spark numbers I want to send an MMS to, I cant reasonably get them all to send one first. I'm at a loss what to do here....
