I signed my wife up to Skinny but didn't do the port immediately, she'd just paid for the next month with Vodafone. Her next Vodafone bill is due tomorrow, so I'd like to get it done. Can we port on the weekend, keeping service? This should close the Vodafone account before the next bill tomorrow, right?

The issue of the bill closing date will be Vodafone's prerogative. Closing an account never seems to go smoothly.

You can however request the day and time for your porting away when you apply on the Skinny website. It would seem rather presumptuous to expect you could get it to work smoothly today. And you'll only find out by trying.

Bugger. I meant to do it a few days ago but we got busy. I guess I either wait a month and have another go, or of Vodafone does pro-rata refunds then I do it whenever.

I have no idea about Vodafone notice. It's month to month without a contract, new month starting tomorrow, that's why I'm trying to do it today. I meant to do it earlier but got busy.

I submitted the port from Skinny to Vodafone around 1pm, it was done by 3pm, so yes you can port a number on the weekend. Now I just have to check Vodafone don't charge us for the next month...
