Hi guys

Just got fibre all connected up, nice fast and speedy. except upstream seems to be capped at 14Mbit/sec instead of 20Mbit

https://www.speedtest.net/result/5955665296

I've done the old reboot router (HG659b), pc, and tried on another pc.. computers are all on Cat5e. I figure its a profile issue?

they report 1000Mbit (I get 100Mbit down no problem). Cat5e to one computer, Cat 6 to the other. Cat5e to the ONT of course.

I've tried shifting lan ports, different cables, rebooting computers and router. oddly still 14-15 upstream while devices on wifi get 20-21 still. and yeah on vdsl before it was happily going 27 up on lan cables. I'm going to directly cable the Mac and see if that changes anything on the mac.

HG659b has 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi options, I tested with Phone connected to 5ghz (5G)

So yeah grabbed mac which was on wifi, plugged into HG659b's lan ports with new Cat5e, 14-15mbit up, put it on wifi again, 20up. (its always getting a nice 103Mbit down regardless of option).

going to fiddle some more

3G, 4G, 5G are all terminologies used for mobile data/calling from a device with a sim card, they dont apply to wifi

you just end up confusing things/people

Fair enough there.

ok so I did a test

seems the VDSL is still active so I plugged that back in and gave it a shot on the cabled connection

Vdsl to Cabled computer

I then pulled that out, put the Fibre Wan back in with its cat6 cable and repeated above

Fibre to cabled computer

Oddly Wifi devices still get 20-21Mbit upstream on fibre.

So still confused.
