I purchased an iPad for my grandparents (both 90+) a couple years ago so they could Skype my mum who lives in the UK.

Since they don't have a landline internet connection (since they don't have a computer) I put a Skinny Data Only SIM card in their iPad and have been topping it up by 5GB ($60) every 3 months for them since they only Skype her once a week (occasionally twice) and use about an average 300MB per call (it can vary from 200-500MB).

This has been perfect for them and despite being very anti-technology have warmed to their weekly Skype calls with their daughter that they haven't seen for 15 years and who is very ill and bed ridden and therefore cannot travel to see them.

I log onto Skinny from wherever I am in the world at the time and top up and apply the 5GB Data pack to keep them in contact for the next 3 months, they don't need (or want) to know anything else about what a top up is or email or anything else related. They struggled just to work out how to use Skype and even now are scared of it however have worked out how to make a call and feel proud of themselves every time they use it.

I have just logged into their account to check on their data usage and noticed that the 5GB Data Combo is no longer available, can anyone advise what has happened to it? There seems to be no mention of it on their website any longer.

The only option I appear to see now is the Ultimate Combo (2.5GB data + other stuff that would be no use to them on an iPad only - i.e. calls & texts) however for the cost for this over 3 months would be $138 compared to the $60 it has been costing to date. There is another package below this, Big Data, however this only provides 1GB data per month where they use on average 1.7GB month with their weekly calls and overheads of app updates etc. so this would not suffice.. and if I were to tell them they need to reduce their Skype usage it would still come in more expensive on Big Data than before at $78 for 3 months.

They still have data in their account to last another couple months max however I'm a bit stuck on what I am going to do after this.

I would really appreciate to hear peoples feedback on what has happened to the Skinny Data Only combo's and also get advice on what to do in this scenario.
