I had trouble with xtra and toke a week to fix. With my other modem these where my sync rates

Downstream Upstream
attenuation 21.0dB 43.0dB
connection rate 3776Kbps 60 Kbps

Now its ADSL Status

ADSL status shows the ADSL physical layer status.

ADSL Firmware Version: 7.03.01.00 - 7.03.01.00 - 7.03.01.00 Annex A - 01.07.2c - 0.54
ADSL Software Version: V3.00B01T01.TX.20070418
Line State Connected
Modulation ADSL_2plus
Annex Mode Annex A
Max Tx Power -38 dBm/Hz

Item Downstream Upstream Unit
SNR Margin 12 -20 dB
Line Attenuation 38 19 dB
Data Rate 2864 165 kbps

from a d link 302g to a D link 502T

i heard u can change your router to sync at adsl speeds and so on. I just got switched over to adsl2+ this last 10 mins so is it likely to improve? Before it was around 4500 kbps downstream best i had this was on my new D link 502T

the status light is flashing non stop is it surpose to?

And they also had to change the port to connect to the internet physically at the the exhange to another port for it to work. would this decrease the speed?

Please only make one thread at a time, there is no need to make multiple threads that are EXACTLY the same.

The STATUS light is meant to flash indefinitely (well at least on my DSL-504T it does, which I think should happen with your one)

There's plenty of info in the router manual:
EDIT: D-Link are a bunch of idiots - the Telecom 502T manual's corrupted!

Downloaded and opened the manual.... looks good to me.

A data corruption doesn't make someone an idiot... though not dealing with it might.

If the instructions that came with your router dont work then go an download them (or vice versa). Changing to a different port on a different DSLAM will not improve your line, only changes the way your modem handles whatever line quality you connect it to. ADSL2 will slow down instead of resyncing, so you will find the noise margin to be more stable but possibly not the speed.

38dB downstream attenuation is not bad enough to explain your 2.8M downstream speed, so look for possible line faults.

Time to find a new industry!
