Hi Guys,

Is anyone here using (or know if its possible to use) Skinny wireless 40GB broadband on a month by month basis, where you might use it one month, and then not use for a few months. (perhaps only topping up for a specific month).

Looking to see if this is an option for a bach, e.g. use the 40GB wireless plan for 2 months over December/January, plus another month of Easter (April), maybe another month in October, etc. Not needed full time 12 months of the year.

As during these times at the bach (when I like to work remotely while family is holidaying), 40GB for $40 is a lot better than buying multiple $46 skinny combos with only 2.5GB data.

You can do this by removing your credit card from the website. Then before you go to the bach you can re-add the card and purchase the plan.

You need to do this at least once a year to keep the SIM card active.

When signing up, is it possible to have the modem sent to a different address (e.g. home address) rather than bach, as the bach address is not setup for NZ Post rural delivery.

Yes, put the bach address in to check compatibility. Then when you are in the checkout you can overwrite it.

I wish I'd asked the same question snowfly, I was connected to Skinny Broadband, moved away for 5/6 months to my bach, and when I moved back to the house, I was unable to get my broadband back on as in that 5/6 months more people had joined Skinny/Spark in the area and now I'm not allowed back on as its too congested. I should have just cancelled the C/C payment and left it dormant during those months instead of moving it to the bach and back.
