Hey guys,

Had vdsl installed over the weekend and I seem to be getting some strange speeds. I'm pretty sure I've wired the filter correctly, but my sync speeds seem to be locked to 29551kbps, every resync is exactly the same, which I think is odd?

Here are my line stats.

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction, it looks like it should be working great guns. Spark told me I should I get around 60mbit

Appreciate any help!

Cheers

DLM monitors your line over time and resyncs your modem, rebooting your modem will have an impact on this process and will likely result in a lower speed. Leave your modem connected and just let DLM adjust your line.

Also, post your line stats here (from your modem). Did you also install a master filter or a plug in filter?

Thanks for the reply. I understand the DLM process, waiting 15 mins between lowering off modem and back on again btw to try avoid profile change as it looks like I'm on 17a.

Line stats are also in the screenshot I linked

Those do look pretty low for your line with that attenuation...

Tried again after wiring modem essentially straight to the master splitter, which is in turn pretty much wired to the demarcation.

Getting the exact same sync speed of 29551 again. Is this caused by DLM? Or has my line been setup incorrectly.

Cheers

Okay so, this one also got IM'd do me on facebook.

After discussing a few of the points, i kept coming back to the same point as in the original post.

There seems to be some sort of profiling error here.

So pulled out the old reliable, stuck it on my ADSL line to test.

Sure enough, 29552/1344 is the max rate set by the DSLAM's for ADSL2 profiles now.

This lines up exactly with what we are seeing, is a simple mistake on chorus provisioning side.

The Specturm profile has been changed, so the line itself is running 17a VDSL2 however the Service profile (where the max line rates are set) has not been changed over.

If i understood the situation correctly, the line is actually a slingshot line not a spark line so i can't push the changes from this end.

Since Port refreshes push the line profiles to "Default" a port refresh realistically should resolve the issue.

Otherwise your RSP will need to raise a fault (An ASSURE only fault, no truckroll) regardless of RSP, a disclosure should not be required for this as you are not agreeing to a truckroll simply a remote check on chorus's end

So a followup on this case.

Has been resolved, seemed to be an odd issue on the network side.

100/48 rolling away i admit, i'm the slightest bit jealous...

Maybe i might have to come round and catch up properly for a cold one eh ;)
