Am wanting to add a new Spam address to my Blacklist in the new Spark webmail.  But get the message I have too many addresses already, and have to delete some first.  I have deleted many addresses (but don't want to delete any more than necessary) but still it won't allow me to add a new one.

Does anyone know the maximum number of Blacklisted addresses are allowed?  Very frustrating.

I don't use the Spark webmail interface, but are you sure blacklisting email addresses is really useful?

Almost ALL spam these days uses a random from address.

Are all the addresses in your list really sending you mail often, or are you just adding every "spam" you get to your blacklist?

send the "spam" emails to the smx help center and they will block them from their end. you will need to forward the spam email as an attachment

a complete waste of time trying to blacklist every spam email adress , at the user level.

this is not how spam works. This is not the way to block spam (in general)
Next week will be another bunch of spam email adresses to block, then another new bunch , then another new bunch.

The spammers dont keep using the same email adress's , they continually get new adress's (or fake them)
If it gets into the inbox, its too late to block it. Wait a few days and that adress will no longer be spamming anyway (or will be blocked at a higher level).

I would use your own blacklist for say, companies who wont stop sending advertising material, friends who wont stop forwarding joke emails etc

Cheers for that advice, and yes, it's actually companies sending me constant rubbish newsletters etc that I don't want (eg some video outfit), that I want to blacklist.  Actually, I get very little of the real spam spam these days.  So I will delete all the addresses in my blacklist and start again!  Thanks

If they are local and not honoring unsubscribe requests then you should report them here https://www.dia.govt.nz/Spam if they are overseas then a report spam on the webmail (if they even offer it at smx) will be more effective as that will work against the whole server that is sending them, not just block that one sender into your mailbox.
