Hey

Signed up to bigpipe, they have advised me my connection is ready to go.

Googled the BigPipe settings as below:

VDSL (Turbo plan)
VPI: 0
VCI: 110
Mode: PTM
PPP Protocol: PPPoE
Encapsulation: 802.1Q
PCP / QoS Marking: 0
VLAN ID: 10
PPP Username / password: anything, just not blank.
Service name: [leave blank]
DNS (Optional): 203.96.123.1, 203.96.123.2

Just trying to marry them up to my Router - Linksys X6200, when I enter some settings it disables others.

My DSL light is flashing, and the status goes from Activating to Handshaking, but have no DSL connection.

Three of four phone hacks make the DSL light flash on my router in the house

What else can I rule out because am at a bit of a loss here

DSL light not going solid is a wiring issue, not a setting issue.

You have tried all the phone jacks? How about a different cable? Modem? Have you unplugged all other phones, faxes and sky decoders?

If so then ask Bigpipe to lodge a failed self install for you.

Hey, yes have tried all four jacks, only one of them doesn't make the DSL light flash.

Just tried changing the phone cable between the router and wall. Still the same result.

We have no other phones/sky etc.

I don't have access to another router. I'll see if there is one lying around at work.

The router I purchased is brand new, all new phone cabling etc.

I live in a multi dwelling with lots of other units.

That suggests you have a master filter installed (a good thing) and that xDSL is only available at that one jackpoint.

Jack 3 DSL light doesn't flash / off completely - DSL Status: Nothing, stays on ACTIVATING but doesn't move to HANDSHAKING

Jack 4 DSL light flashes - DSL Status : ACTIVATING....HANDSHAKING....ACTIVATING...HANDSHAKING

OK that's not good. Try with another modem if possible, just in case yours is faulty (pretty unlikely considering it's new). Otherwise contact Bigpipe.

So the fact that it goes from Activating to Handshaking, does that mean there is a DSL connection there or not?

Handshaking suggests it's trying to connect, but can't.

Have you had ADSL or VDSL at this address before?

So!

Just purchased a H659 Huawei for $20 brand new. Flashed with the BigPipe Firmware.

Works flawlessly.

All I can say is I would advise against purchasing the router in the subject, I could not get it to work, I don't consider myself to be completely computer illiterate.

I need to try and cancel the Chorus tech before the morning.
