I have a couple of problems, not sure if they are related.

1. The HG659b logs a lot of DNS errors

2. Chrome regularly refuses to load sites which it should be able access (on my PC, connected by cable)

3. Android phones using wifi frequently get a connection that does not have internet access

On the HG659b the DHCP settings have options for DNS...

DNS mode:

* Modem acts as the DNS proxy

* Manually configure the DNS server for LAN devices

It is currently set to the first option. Should I change that and specify DNS servers?

It is getting quite annoying when my phone cannot access the internet, is this a wifi problem, Android or the Spark equipment causing wifi connections to not have internet access?

The IPv6 DHCP server is also enabled, is it used or should I turn it off? Its current config is set to Auto-configure subnet.

Internet settings are:

INTERNET_TR069_ETH_VID_10

Access type: Ethernet

IPv4 status: Connected

IPv4 primary DNS server: 122.56.237.1

IPv4 secondary DNS server: 210.55.111.1

PPPoE AC-Name: HN-BNG01

Yes, change the DNS mode to manually configure. Set the DNS servers to 122.56.237.1 and 210.55.111.1

If you're wondering why you're gettting these problems, the DNS server likely has a memory leak.

If you access LAN devices using hostnames (eg mediarouter.home), this will stop working when you change the DNS mode so you will need to enter IP addresses instead. This does not affect mDNS/.local domains

I'd leave the IPv6 DHCP server on - doesn't seem to affect/break anything, but Spark don't support IPv6 connectivity at the moment.

Slightly OT: there's a device on my network that, when it connects to the HG659b Wi-Fi, causes the HG659b to send a constant stream (~16kbit/s) of ARP packets until the HG659b Wi-Fi is turned off and on. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I'm not the only one who's had this problem...

Cheers, I set the DNS addresses and my phone connection was instantly ok. Had to reboot the tv and it's ok now as well.
I have used the DHCP feature for reserving a specific ip for my various pooters, this seems to work well, so I don't think my devices will have trouble finding each other.
Still have a strange problem with chrome getting corrupted certs, don't know if this is DNS related.

All of the DNS issues on the Netcomm devices only occurred if there were Apples devices in the network.

Sorted the problem with Chrome, a corrupted certificate had been downloaded (on my PC) and wasn't being refreshed. After deleting it I could access all the sites using that particular cert.

And yes, I do have a iPad pro, but I don't think it has any problems on my network.
