Heya,

I'm trying to setup an unlocked Huawei B315s-607 for spark in NZ but am having trouble getting the voice side of it to work.

Can it be made to use Cellular voice or does it need some sort of VOIP setting? I have got the data working fine just the voice stumps me.

I have combed the internet for anything but have come up dry.

The device is fully autoprovisioned by the network. There is nothing to do.

Unless of course you don't have a Spark device in which case you're not going to be able to use it.

Spark voice uses VoIP over a custom APN. You can't use cellular as 4G doesn't have a voice solution so all cellular voice is 3G.

Voice is totally remote managed, you will need a spark supplied B315s.

Great that helps allot i can stop searching now then.

I have other devices that use 3G that work on the cellular voice carrier.

I'm trying to find a device that works on 3G/4G with Voice and Data that does not use VOIP for the voice, but really struggling.

All the devices we have tried have had terrible voice quality.

We have tried the VOIP options in 3G coverage and it does not work at all very well, in the 4G it is OK but still not good.

Vodafones implementation uses Voice calls rather than VoIP.

my comments are based on the assumption you are looking to use WBB, not a normal "phone plan"

If you use the phone service over 4G using the B315 then I would expect you to have a completely normal phone service as it would be fully provided by Spark. As the device is remotely provisioned then all the Quality of Service is correctly applied in the dedicated voice services APN, rather than delivering the VoIP over the internet.

So if I take my spark B315 outside of their 3G coverage area, to an area only covered by their 4G 700 MHz, can I still expect to be able to make/receive  phone calls?
