I see Spark put out a release regarding this already: http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/money/2017/10/security-vulnerability-putting-all-spark-customers-at-risk.html

Any word on timeframes for firmware updates to the consumer Huawei and other routers they supply as yet?

There is nothing suggest so far that the Spark routers (or any router supplied by any RSP) is vulnerable as the compromise is primarily client devices.
