I received this txt on Friday...

Great news! WEv'e cranked up our $46 Ultra Combo even more with an extra 6.5GB of Rollover Data. For the same $46 you'll now get a huge 10GB of Rollover Data, Unlimited NZ/AU rollover mins and Unlimited NZ/AU Texts every 4 weeks.

Surely this is the best value high data usage plan (that is not unlimited) on the market now? I'm just gonna stream everything now.

How can they just triple my data overnight? They must have quite a bit of excess capacity.

It’s only $49 for 10Gb on 2D, and Skinny BB is 100Gb/$52 so I guess the markets evening out for the big data plans. After the bandwidth aggregation, I guess cheaper data plans became much more feasible as they have to ‘prove it or lose it’ to retain the frequency chunks they bought...

It's interesting none of the other providers offer such large amounts of data on prepay Vodafone's My Flex Prepay only allows you to add a max of 3.5GB so the only way to get more data is to go on a Monthly plan.

2Degrees limits the minutes on the 10GB prepay plan to 150 minutes (still unlimited on-net calls) if the minutes was more I would consider changing to it from my $19 Prepay plan

If I could turn the 1498 rollover minutes I’ve accumulated on that same &19 combo into data (even at 1mb/min) I’d be stoked!
I honestly don’t even know how it’s gone that big as 90minsx12mnths=1080mins before they start expiring??

But $49/10Gb is still a hard pill to swallow when $52/100Gb (fixed) is still ‘cellular’ if not ‘mobile’ data cost on my Skinny BB.

Between the unlimited fibre at work and the 100Gb/month at home I’m not really a big ‘mobile’ data user except in the school holidays (I’m a Primary school teacher) when we go off to the in laws (no internet/wifi) or in the motorhome (often no cell signal anyway).

Ingress is a pretty modest data hog, and this 2D datahunt will stock me up with 10Gb (valid a year) that should take me through the holiday slot quite well this year 😉

Free unlimited calling, unless private number just call them back, that way can lower voice mail access costs.

I always have Voicemail disabled - if it is important they'll either call back or flick me a SMS / email. Private callers are the most annoying (often my work too).

Ultra Combo = 28 days ($1.64 / day)
Skinny Direct = 30 days ($1.67 / day)

Throw in a few voice mails to retrieve...

and here i am counting some of my ingress sims in the sub 10mb mark ;)

It's hardly a hog... unless your crazy and go everywhere..

I average 1.5-4GB in ingress a month alone depending on how busy....
