The EV means that the mobile is connected to the network, in this case EVDO. It will change when you move into 1X coverage areas, and read 1X. You can't remove it.

When the phone is in EVDO coverage, it will display 'EV'

does anyone know what the internal memory on these phones is? i realise i need a memory card for any decent size but i tried downloading a song off my computer and it said it was too big so im guessing the internal memory is pretty small?
