Hi,
I just would like to share my experience with moving from Spark UFB to the Bigpipe.
I've been using Spark for more than a year and found that I don't really use any of the complimentary services that the subscription provides.
So, I decided migrating to the bigpipe that offered a lower rate.
Dealing with their web site was easy and in a few minutes I've got an email saying this:
We'll email you as soon as we have your connection date confirmed (usually within 24 - 48 hours).
So, I've prepared myself for waiting for the confirmation email with the date stated.
Next day my broadband internet suddenly dropped.
As I haven't received any confirmation from Bigpipe yet, I was 100% sure that I'm still with Spark.
So, I phoned the Spark help desk and it took about an hour or so before I've got a real person looking at my case.
He asked me to do the usual "turn off and on" etc and then said that he can see the issue and will arrange a technician visit.
This was looking like it may take days before I get my internet back which was quite disappointing as I'm using my home internet for doing work.
So, in this situation, I had to urgently buy an internet data package from my 4G provider and open WiFi hotspot on a mobile.
While waiting for the call from the Spark/Chorus technician, I've started reading this site and found the bigpipe settings for the Spark modem I use.
Just in curiosity I've tried this configuration and suddenly the internet started working.
I could not believe that Bigpipe done the switch without letting me know in advance! I went on speedtest.net and it confirmed that I'm indeed with Bigpipe now.
That was a bit surprise. What about the confirmation email with the date stated? I've never received it. (just to predict possible speculations, I've checked the spam folder of my mailbox as well).
The next communication I got from Bigpipe was next day evening saying "Your Bigpipe connection is complete".
Thank you, but didn't you promise to advise the date in advance???
The absence of this information costed me about 3 working hours and a price an internet data pack from the 4G provider that I don't need.
The good thing is that the internet is working now and the speed it pretty much the same I had with Spark and I pay less for it.
