Hey Team,

I recently had a boo-boo where I dropped my iPhone 8+ while getting into my car, tried to catch it with my foot, and ended up booting it into the corner of a concrete step.  I know.

Has anyone recently made a claim with Spark Insurance?  Apparently they've recently changed policy where it needs to get sent away to get assessed.  Unfortunately they've given my an iPhone 4s as a loaner, which is soul-destroyingly slow.  For comparison, my wife dropped her phone getting out of a truck about a year back, and they replaced it on the spot.

For my own sanity, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to say how long it took for things to get assessed.  They told me it could be up to 10 days, but I'm in bloody denial about it; this 4s will be the death of me.

Any words of comfort greatly appreciated :'(

The policy has always been to attempt repair first, but in the past Telegistics weren’t able to carry out repairs - only verified faults and did unit swap outs. Telegistics will attempt to repair the device, if unable to be repaired it will be replaced. Approx 10 days is correct

Just go into the Spark store. Depending on how bad it is they may well replace it there and then.

OP has already been into the Spark store, it has been sent to Telegistics for assessment/repair

With regard to my previous comment, that was specific to iPhone’s. i.e Repairs were not attempted on iPhones in the past
