Since skinny use bigpipes network, and that is going away and bigpipes moving to sparks network, does that mean no more CGNAT on skinny or is that staying as it is?

Need to figure out a different backup ISP to have on the copper to voyager for my fiber, and if skinny lose the CGNAT then that would make them a good option.

TBH 90%+ of people couldnt give a crap about CGNAT, but this gives me a viable second ISP that isnt the same as my main one (voyager) at a better price than bigpipe.

Personally i too run two isps, It's not cheap. but in a pinch that doubled bandwidth is nice.

Being i live in a copper world, the ocasional line failure is often naturally resolved via my router.

line is detected to be out of spec, it's placed down the list and bandwidth pipes out the working line while i get the broken one fixed.

Also nice having two opposing providers, as i can kinda head to head race them.

Because consumer ISPs dont really have a decent fault resolution time and its cheaper to get 2 connections than to pay business rates.

comes in waves, just like the weather ;)

pretty sure the numbers work out to my faults are well above average for a copper connection.

but then i also have a near perfect hlog.. inperfections shine through.

Given this... can anyone give me a reason to keep paying $89 for VDSL with Bigpipe instead of $73 with Skinny?

It's the former, currently using ac86u on skinny boardband.

You have to buy the required modem. Whether you use it or not is up to you. If you don't use it then you won't get customer service.

Thanks for confirming this. Looks like I'm going to shift, I really can't justify paying $16 a month more for effectively the same service. Especially when I'm keen to get gigabit when UFB hits my street next year and the current difference at that level is $31!

My Bigpipe connection switched over to Spark's network last week. Does anyone know if Skinny has shifted yet? I really can't deal with CGNAT even for a short while, so will wait for confirmation before I place an order.
